Costa Rica Sea Kayaking

Sea kayaking the oceans and canals of Costa Rica

Sea kayaks let you glide across glimmering water and enjoy the sunset from deserted beaches.

Costa Rica is bordered by two seas, and much of the country is unreachable by road, so there are a number of places in Costa Rica that are best experienced from the serenity of a sea kayak. Whether it be paddling your way through the famous canals and estuaries of Tortuguero National Park, island hoping across the Gulf of Nicoya, or exploring the warm waters of the Caribbean coast, a sea kayak can add interest to your journey and get you to places you can't reach by road.

Even complete novices can enjoy a few playful hours of sea kayaking.

Your Serendipity adventure can include anything from one hour of easy paddling in a sit on top kayak to several days of island hopping in unprotected waters. When you paddle Costa Rica as part of a Serendipity adventure you will have good food, clean and comfortable lodging, and well maintained equipment.

Sea kayaking interior rivers - a silent and personal way to see nature.

In contrast to most of our activities, Serendipity does not run sea kayak tours, but will include this activity as part of your Costa Rican vacation. For examples of how sea kayaking can be incorporated into your active Costa Rican vacation, have a look at our sample itineraries of private Costa Rica vacations.

Quote:

It has certainly been the best trip we ever had as a family. We loved it so much we would like to come back next year if possible. That is saying something, because Anna on principle never(!) wants to come to the same place twice. Our principal guide was superb. Felipe was patient, creative when plans needed to be changed, and generally wonderful.

We think we will see more of Costa Rica-so it will not quite be the same place. We loved the country, we loved everyone at Serendipity we came across (all the guides were competent and helpful), and we had the time of our lives.
