Hey there!

I would like to introduce myself real quick: I am a 23-year old student from Berlin. I am studying tourism management and I decided to come to Costa Rica for my internship since it was time for me to experience another adventure.

I love my hometown, but I need to get out of that huge city every once in a while. So packed my belongings in the middle of September and flew to San José (without knowledge of the Spanish language).

After the first shock of the silence on the countryside I just had to start loving this country. The beauty of the nature, the kindness of the people and the amazing staff at Serendipity made it real easy for me to get comfortable quickly. After almost three weeks in this country I have to say: I have never seen anything more beautiful than this!

Costa Rica is the ideal country to gain back your inner balance, especially if you are coming from a big city like Berlin. But it is not only a good destination for people who want to enjoy the tranquility. The silence compared with the activities makes this place perfect for family vacations or trips with friends.

The people are so incredibly nice, even if they don’t understand me and I don’t understand them. You can see and feel the Latin mentality in everything they do. Family is definitely the most important thing around here.

I live in a small village called San Antonio, which is an ideal place to get away from it all. Surrounded by nothing but rainforest, an active volcano and a few little houses I can finally get some peace.

But even though it is very quiet there is no such thing as boredom. I am working during the week and I am doing several different activities with Serendipity. During the weekends, I am getting to know more about this country. My to-do-list for the next few weeks includes some of the following adventure experiences: canyoning, river rafting, horseback riding and lost more!

I am very excited for the next four months and I thank Serendipity Adventures for having me here and taking care of me!
