Alex Kyriakidis, Global Managing Partner for Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure for DELOITTE, London, spends his professional life evaluating service and recommending service standards for companies such as Hyatt, Marriott, and Intercontinental, among others. He came with Serendipity for his own vacation, and has written the following recomendation:

This is a long overdue note to say a BIG thank you on Elizabeth's and my behalf to you and your wonderful team that took care of us for 12 days in Costa Rica.  We can safely say that this has been the most memorable holiday we have ever had.  This was not only due to the wonderful country that Costa Rica is but also due to Serendipity's service. 

We set out what we consider to be the areas where Serendipity excelled in every way:

• Knowledge of what the client is looking for - from a few ideas in an email, you were able to develop a customised itinerary that incorporated all the experiences we were looking for - sighting the green turtles, horse riding, touring pristine rainforest in a private nature reserve, white water rafting, tree canopy tours and a stay at the Four Seasons;
• Outstanding team - your team, led by our guide leader Matias, was without question, a highly professional, courteous and responsive group of men and women who, as well as doing their job, seemed to be enjoying themselves.  Their easy going yet professional manner made us feel at home and at the same time feel safe in all of the adventure activities that we experienced;
• The quality of your horses was among the best we have ridden.  Having had the privilege of riding thoroughbred Arab horses years ago, it was indeed a major surprise to ride horses that were immaculately groomed and well schooled.  The 6-hour ride was phenomenal, the scenery stunning and the small touches such as the pit stop at a family restaurant for lunch, were unforgettable;
• The quality of your equipment and logistics was first class.  Over the 12 days, everything went according to plan.  Matias was proactive and when we requested a change, this was almost instantly accommodated and implemented without fuss;
• Your personal touch - from the outset till we boarded the plane for London, we felt that in all that was done, your personal touch was evident and your communication with the team while we were on the road was better than most luxury hotel guest recognition programmes I have come across.  Your hospitality and your kind invitation to dinner at your home were added and unforgettable touches.

Prior to embarking on this holiday, we undertook a lot of research and contacted several high-end tour operators.  With the benefit of hindsight, we can safely say we made the best choice.

We thank you and wish you and your team continued success.  We will certainly be back and look forward to seeing you and your great team again.
