Pricing for the Costa Rica Naturalist Eco Travel Vacation
I love the serendipity staff. What an incredible group! Eduardo and Jose are a great team extremely competent and supportive. But I also love the support staff Channi, Carlos and Margarita, and the river guides Moises and Davis. They all provided amazing adventure for us. I have to also mention that I love meeting Don Carlos and his family getting to walk his land and understand his lifestyle was a great privilege for me. Finally on the top of the adventure of hiking, biking horseback riding and rafting we were able to have the rare experience of exploring the Cabecar land and seeing how the people live. This trip is an incredible opportunity. It shouldn't-be missed

With your own personal trip guide and specialized guides for each activity, you'll be encouraged to do things most tour companies won't allow.
Serendipity Adventures provides custom designed private adventures. Every adventure is custom designed, and there is tremendous variation in types of hotels, how much adventure, how many people will be in your self formed group, what tourist season the trip is in, and what holidays are involved.
To better understand the logistics of "group size" and to give you a rough idea of what a custom private vacation with Serendipity will cost, here's what the 11 Day Naturalist Eco Travel itinerary would cost per person for the following size groups and room sharing, in high and low season. We can accommodate larger self-formed groups by adding guides, vehicle and equipment.

** Christmas travel (Dec. 18-Jan. 5) and Spring Break(March 15-25) adds approximately 5% to the costs listed, because of higher costs for hotels, meals, and guides during the holiday period.
* With more than six persons we have two options: use two Serendipity leaders with two 4 wheel drive vehicles -- this is the pricing in the above table. An alternative is to use ONE Serendipity leader, driving a 4x4, plus people in your group driving additional 4x4 rental vehicles. The 4x4 vehicles allow access to the more remote areas we enjoy, but having one of your group follow our 4x4 (and we have radios betwen vehicles, so we keep in contact) saves you $1400 for groups of seven to twelve persons, and it can be a lot of fun.
Most of the hotels we've selected for this trip would be classified as 3+ star, but we think "our" hotels have more charm, personality, and comfort than the hotels classified as Four or Five Star in Costa Rica (for Five Stars you need air conditioning, carpeting, cable TV, pool, bar, etc. -- just what every American-style resort hotel chain aspires to). "Our" hotels are remote from any traffic, with beautiful gardens and trails and intrinsic natural beauty.
Traffic noise pervades Costa Rica, where ventilation is normally through open windows. In San José it is both noise and diesel fumes which lull you to sleep, so we avoid San José completely.
